Senior IPS officer Manish Kishore Sinha,a 1996-batch IPS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre has been promoted as Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Sinha, a Deputy Inspector General-level officer in CBI, is heading the Multi-Disciplinary Monitoring Agency (MDMA) Zone of the agency. MDMA is probing Gandhi’s assassination.Besides Sinha, three other IPS officers — Navin Kumar Singh, Shankha Brata Bagchi and Bhanu Bhaskar — have also been promoted as Joint Director in the CBI.Singh and Bagchi are working in Anti-Corruption Branch and Special Crime unit of the agency in Kolkata. Whereas, Bhaskar is working in the CBI Training Academy in Ghaziabad. All of them are 1996-batch IPS officers.
