Health scare for Lalu Prasad; doctors say he’s stable now

RANCHI: Incarcerated RJD president and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad’s health deteriorated suddenly on Thursday evening, but doctors said his condition has stabilised.
Senior doctors at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), where Lalu is admitted while he serves prison terms in fodder scam cases, rushed to the paying ward complex soon after Lalu complained of breathlessness.
Jharkhand health minister Banna Gupta also reached the hospital to monitor the developments. A multi-disciplinary team of doctors examined Lalu.
RIMS director Dr Kameshwar Prasad told TOI: “Lalu Prasad is stable and we have conducted a few tests to check his condition. He complained of breathlessness and has been diagnosed with mild pneumonia.” “His rapid antigen test report is negative and his samples have been sent for a confirmation through an RT-PCR test. We will receive the report on Friday,” he said when asked if there was a possibility of Covid infection.
